Leanna Lenee and Travis Hunter, the star football player from the University of Colorado Boulder and recent Heisman Trophy winner, have found themselves at the center of an online controversy. Surprisingly, the criticism has little to do with Hunter’s extraordinary athletic achievements.

Hunter and Lenee, set to marry next year, have found themselves amid a scandal revolving around Lenee’s past. The starting point of this camaraderie dates back to the last Colorado Buffs game – where Lenee seemed to shy away when Hunter tried to kiss her on the sidelines. Flash forward, a clip from Hunter’s Heisman victory added oil to the already burning pit.

In the viral clip from the Heisman Trophy ceremony, Lenee had a composed demeanor that drew intense scrutiny and sparked widespread debate on social media. Apparently, the Buffs’ head coach Deion Sanders had to personally poke Lenee to stand up when Hunter’s name was announced. Later, she was also spotted having an alleged verbal duel over Hunter’s meet-and-greet with female fans.

In light of the feud and character assassination of his fiancee, Hunter has lashed out against the online fans and the cyber world.

Hunter said.

Escalating the controversy, an old music video from three years ago resurfaced. It shows Lenee in a contentious role hugging a SoundCloud rapper in a manner some considered inappropriate. The video also shows Lenee dancing closely with someone in a club while he reportedly waits for her.

Further fueling the drama, former NFL stars Dez Bryant and Nate Burleson openly speculated that Hunter’s relationship with Lenee might hinder his prospects in a professional football career.
