Aaron Rodgers played one of his best games of the 2024 season in Week 15, leading his New York Jets to a win. But before starting practice for that game, he called out ESPN analysts for unwanted criticism directed towards him, leading to a response from Ryan Clark.
Ryan Clark went on to call the 41-year-old a ‘fraud’. He made it clear that Rodgers had no business criticizing analysts, especially after the miserable season he has had. What Clark also felt was wrong that Rodgers was using his position as an influential football player to make those statements.
Clark’s colleague Mina Kimes mentioned that the Jets quarterback lost credibility with that narrative. Being paid to appear on The Pat McAfee Show and give his opinions as an opinionated person of interest is exactly what they do. She and Clark are paid to do that for ESPN every day.
When Aaron Rodgers appeared in the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, he gave his opinions on a lot of topics. Just as it was time to wrap up his segment, he stopped host Pat McAfee and went on to share some food for thoughts’ remark.
"I just got a PSA..

Just a quick reminder" 😂😂 ~ @AaronRodgers12 #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/6dI6X86Hwp
The four-time league MVP did not name Ryan Clark specifically, but he did mention about someone who wears their initials as a pin on their jacket live on air. Clark is one of the only ESPN analysts to do that whenever he is live in studio or at games.
Ryan Clark responds to Aaron Rodgers’ words
As soon as this went on air, fans started tagging Ryan Clark to clippings that started appearing on X. The Super Bowl champion went through what Aaron Rodgers said and responded on X with this message directed at the New York Jets quarterback and host Pat McAfee.
He added another tweet a while later.
Man, I wish @PatMcAfeeShow would’ve let him keep going! It just got good. I don’t know about the Vax stuff, but shoot he almost put a name on it. It’s a lapel pin BTW!! 😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/FjuhJrAZq4

I’m not too concerned with Aaron, but Pat did mention jealousy, dropped some eff bombs about the $ he’s made… Good for him, I love what he’s created. I have no issue with him paying Aaron. I have an issue with Aaron behaving like he’s not paid to do exactly what the people he’s… https://t.co/FjuhJrArAw

The 45-year-old focused on Aaron Rodgers and Pat McAfee’s comments about jealousy. Rodgers suggested that critics should either have matching accolades or be unvaccinated during COVID to criticize him.
He has always maintained his anti-vaccination stance. But using it to shoot back at his detractors was his way of gaining some leverage. With McAfee and Clark under contract with ESPN, this discourse could run on their shows for a while.
