The Chicago Bears are not in a great place right now. Their quarterback Justin Fields recently called out the coaching staff for his ‘robotic’ feeling during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. They have started the season 0-2 and there are more questions than answers about the Bears and Fields. Their next game is against the defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fox Sports analyst and former NFL player Emmanuel Acho believes that Fields will be playing for his reputation against the Chiefs. Fields hasn’t played great through two weeks. In a recent press conference, he indirectly blamed the coaches for his limited movement outside the pocket. However, he later said that he wasn’t blaming the coaches and held himself accountable for his poor performances.

“I think Justin Fields [is] playing for his reputation this weekend.” Acho said on the show ‘Speak’ on FS1. “I don’t think he’s playing for a starting job, not just yet, but he’s playing for his reputation.”

Acho also talked about how his perception among the fans would completely shift if he struggles against the Chiefs this weekend. “If he struggles again, 0-3, Justin Fields would’ve lost 11 consecutive games, the Bears would’ve thus lost 13 consecutive games. His reputation would completely shift and how people perceive him would completely shift. What Justin Fields is playing for is his reputation across the National Football League.”

Fields is 5-22 as a starting QB for the Bears in his short NFL career. He was drafted eleventh overall by the Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has struggled to perform consistently throughout his career and the game against the Chiefs on Sunday will be very important for Fields and the Bears if they want to get back into this season.

Ryan Poles backs Justin Fields and says the QB isn’t ‘a finger pointer’

Justin Fields hasn’t had a great start to the season and he let his frustrations known during a recent press conference. His comments on coaching for his “robotic” play were not well received in media.

The Chicago Bears‘ GM Ryan Poles talked about Fields’ comments saying, “When I listen to him and that whole deal, the majority of it was like, ‘All right, I’ve gotta create this clarity, I’ve got to get better,’ I thought he took ownership of everything. He didn’t have to say anything about that.” Poles also clarified that no one in the organization took Fields’ comments personally.

The Bears have started the season 0-2 and will head to Kansas City this weekend to play the reigning Super Bowl champions. Fields will hope to get his and the Bears’ season back on track on Sunday.
