Marvin Harrison Jr. appears to have outpaced Tyreek Hill in terms of confidence as he calls himself the top wide receiver of all time before he could step foot on the football field in the NFL. Well, to an extent Harrison Jr.’s argument isn’t entirely baseless as he comes from Ohio State, which is famous for producing quality wide receivers.

The Cardinals rookie has played alongside prominent names such as Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jameson Williams, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba in his freshman year. During his recent appearance on “The Trenches Show” podcast, host linebacker Zaire Franklin asked Harrison Jr. about who he considers the best wide receiver from his alma mater, Ohio State.

I think I'm the best. Obviously, my two years, I did my thing. Then you look at the accolades, they up there with the [best]: Heisman finalist, I think we only had one other Biletnikoff Award winner, Terry Glenn, two-time receiver of the year, Big Ten Player of the Year, I mean, you go down the whole list. Unanimous All-American back-to-back years. I did it all.

Harrison Jr. was the fourth overall pick from the batch that was hefty dominated by quality quarterbacks. With a sixth-most receptions of 155, third-most touchdown passes of 31, and sixth-most receiving yards of 2,613, the Ohio State standout was the best in his class among the wide receivers.

Marvin Harrison Jr. joins Cardinals as dynamic offensive weapon

After being drafted by the Cardinals in the first round as the No. 4 pick, the 2023 Biletnikoff Award winner became the highest-drafted wide receiver in Ohio’s history. But that isn’t his only accolade in the school, as he also became the only Ohio State receiver to log multiple seasons exceeding 1,000 yards.

Despite such prominence, there’s one thing that Harrison Jr.’s critics often point out–that was his inability to beat the Michigan Wolverines in his college football career. But he always defended himself by saying it wasn’t entirely in his control.

Except for that argument, Harrison Jr. had never been in a position to defend himself. Although Harrison Jr. wasn’t entirely blinded by high praise for himself, as he mentioned the legendary wideout Cris Carter for his Hall of Fame honor. By adding Harrison Jr. with the skill set of running route, hands, size, and speed to the first-team offense, the Cardinals have a deadly weapon for the opposing defense.
