This week, the Miami Dolphins added a new wide receiver to the roster–Willie Snead. This new signing came as a surprise to many because of the derogatory remark the receiver made some time ago about the Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa. However, it turns out Snead deeply regrets that remark as he offered an apology to the quarterback.

It has been pretty hard for Miami fans to forget the wild-card game from last season where the team was defeated by the reigning Super Bowl champion, resulting in their elimination. Star quarterback Tagovailoa, who recently became one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league, posted 20-of-39 for 199 yards with only one touchdown and interception on that occasion.

After the game, Tagovailoa received bitter criticism from a fellow NFL player, who blamed the quarterback for the loss saying he is “soft AF” in a now-deleted social media post. That player was Willie Snead.

This controversial post by the wide receiver, which was soon deleted, has resurfaced on the internet. The media as well as everyone was shocked to hear that Snead has now joined the Dolphins as a free agent.

Willie Snead apologizes to Tua Tagovailoa

Snead, who signed a $212.4 million deal with the Dolphins for four years last week, has now joined the team, and the first thing he did was apologize to the Pro Bowler quarterback, both publicly and personally.

In a conversation with Chris Perkins of the Sun-Sentinel, Snead opened up on the original situation that had prompted him to make the comment. He also mentioned that he had already apologized to Tua.

Yeah, to be honest, I was watching the game. A fan of the game. I was rooting for the Dolphins in that game. I wanted the Dolphins to get past the Chiefs. I was emotional about it, and I tweeted something about it I probably shouldn’t have, and I regret it today. Me and Tua talked last night, working on a handshake. We already completed one pass in one-on-ones.

Snead also revealed that the two have decided to bury the hatchet. Because after all, the wide receiver is now part of the Miami clan, not to mention one of the strongest receiving squads in the league.
