Lately, there have been rumors swirling around about Davante Adams’ next potential team amid the uncertainty in the New York Jets. However, it appears the veteran would rather prefer staying in active than play for the Chicago Bears, a team with which he has been linked.
After an upsetting departure from the Las Vegas Raiders this season, Adams landed in the Jets with his former teammate and friend Aaron Rodgers. However, things went sideways when the Green Gang began recording a losing streak before officially being eliminated from the playoffs at a 2-6 season record.
Amidst his uncertain future in New York, there have been discussions on his next potential team. The three-time All-Pro may not know where his future lies, but he is certain where it isn’t. During his recent appearance on the Up & Adams podcast, he was asked if he would be open to playing for his former team’s biggest rivals, the Bears and his response couldn’t be surprising.

Davante began his legendary career in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers after being drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft. Even if he no longer wears the Green Bay jersey, he still carries the pride of once being a Packers.
How has the Bears-Packers rivalry influenced Davante Adams?
The Bears-Packers rivalry is known to be the oldest in the NFL, which began in 1921 and continued by players from succeeding generations. Being two of the oldest teams in the league, they also have a record of playing most matchups with a count of 209.
Even in the extreme of scenarios, the six-time Pro Bowler would never want to play for the Windy City. Although the Bears have the potential to join the list of contenders in the league next season if they hire a good head coach to develop rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
Meanwhile, there’s a heavy chance that Davante might walk away from New York with his teammate Rodgers. As he wishes to play for a Super Bowl-contending team and given that the Jets currently lack that potential, he is unlikely to remain with the team.
