“This man is unstoppable” – Fans react as World No.1 Scottie Scheffler successfully DEFENDS Hero World Challenge title

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler once again proved why he indeed is the number one golfer in the world. The American shot 9-under 63 in the final round of the 2024 Hero World Challenge which saw him successfully defend his title.
Scheffler won this event last year by finishing 20-under for the event. He was three shots ahead of runner-up Sepp Straka on that day. This year, he once again had an emphatic performance in this tournament.
The 2024 Masters champion started the final round 1-shot behind Justin Thomas, who shot 66 in the third round to become the 54-hole leaderboard.
After three good rounds, Thomas was unable to replicate the same in the final round. The former World No.1 ended up shooting 71 in the final round.
On the other hand, Scheffler continued his dominance. He shot an impressive score of 63 to wrap up the event 25-under, six shots ahead of Tom Kim, who came second. The South Korean finished as the runner-up, one stroke ahead of Thomas who came third.

This is Scheffler’s ninth victory of the year. Apart from a triumph here and the Olympics, where he won gold, Scheffler won the Masters, RBC Heritage, The Players Championship, Arnold Palmer Invitational, Travelers Championship, the Memorial Tournament and the Tour Championship.
Scheffler is now the third man to successfully defend his title in this event. Tournament host Tiger Woods and Viktor Hovland were the other two players. The 28-year-old picked up a cheque of $1 million for his win from this $5 million purse prize.

Scottie Scheffler winning a golf tournament has become something quite frequent in recent times. The golfer once again showed off his impressive skills as he ran away with another victory at the Hero World Challenge at the Albany Course in the Bahamas.

Apart from his wins, Scheffler also had two runners-up finishes. He made the cut in all 19 official events that he started this year.
He is now the favorite to claim the PGA Tour Player of the Year award for a second season running. Can he make it three in a row with another dominant performance in 2025 is something many fans are looking forward to now.
