Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio have gone off on each other multiple times in prior interviews. After having several matches in WWE, they are high on their family conflicts. However, recently, The Master of 619 made a surprising statement when he chose ‘Dirty’ Dom as one of the members along with the 7-foot-4-inch giant Andre The Giant in his dream Survivor Series team in the company.
In a video on WWE’s YouTube channel where superstars shared their dream Survivor Series teams, Rey Mysterio made an amusing suggestion by including Dominik as one of his picks. He humorously explained that every team needs someone to take falls and bumps, making ‘Dirty’ Dom a fitting choice. Rey also cheekily referred to Dominik as “the dirtiest player in the game” for his underhand tactics.
Apart from Andre and Dominik, Rey chose Bret Hart and his former best friend Batista to be the other members of his time. Led by himself, Mysterio called it “The Mystery Team.” Moreover, the WWE Hall of Famer also gave reasons to add Dave Bautista to his team, recalling the iconic heel turn of The Animal from 2009 at Bragging Rights.
However, it was strange to see how highly The Master of 619 rates his son Dominik by putting him in a team of WWE legends. Recently, he even talked about reconciling with his son sooner than later. He has hopes that someday the father-son duo is going to be back in WWE. While things are pretty different as of now, there is always a scope for change in WWE.
Rey Mysterio compared Dominik Mysterio’s career to his when he was of the same age
Dominik Mysterio is one of the fastest-rising stars in WWE history. At the age of 27, he has the world in the palm of his hands, with numerous matches against WWE legends and a couple of WrestleMania bouts under his belt. Recently, his father, Rey Mysterio, compared his career when he was the age of Dominik.
Speaking on Cheap Heat, Mysterio said that while he had a decent career when he was 27, it was nowhere close to that of Dominik. Rey admitted that in the past four years, ‘Dirty’ Dom has transformed his character to an incredble extent that his future is bright in professional wrestling down the line.
Furthermore, The Lucha Legend shared that the first four years of his career were challenging. In contrast, Dominik has quickly established himself in WWE. He praised Dom for laying the foundation for a spectacular future as a top star, something he himself struggled to achieve in his early years.
