Mercedes Mone became the new AEW wrestler when she made her debut at AEW Big Business. However, what created an instant buzz among fans was her contract details. Major details about her contract surfaced online which blew many fans’ minds.

According to PWInsider, with this deal, Mercedes Mone became the highest-paid female wrestler in the history of the business. They further revealed that both companies pursued her with different offers and were even willing to pay her an eight-figure amount. Ultimately, the Jacksonville-based company closed the deal, and the 32-year-old became a new AEW wrestler.

The CEO left WWE because of the negotiation issues and her disappointment with the storylines. There were many speculations about her returning to big events like the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. However, she chose NJPW and even reached the final of the Strong Women’s Champion tournament, but suffered an injury.

After staying away from the in-ring action for more than 10 months she finally made her big debut at a Big Business event. AEW co-owner Tony Khan expressed his intent to make her the face of the company.

The Wrestling fans were happy and excited to see Mercedes Mone returning and starting the show. However, some of the wrestlers pointed out a minor flaw in her return. Former WWE superstar Nic Nemeth fka Dolph Ziggler wished Mone hadn’t started the show.

Nemeth spoke with Busted Open and admitted that Mone starting the show caught him by surprise. He stated that her entrance should have been in the middle or near the main event, so the fans watch the whole show. it didn’t matter anyway, because her entrance had the crowd on their feet and started the show hot.

I have 20 years of that New York experience from TV in my mind going, 'They won't bring her out first, right? Because then after that there's no reason for extra viewers who are just tuning in to stay. It's just something that is a story that's built into a business model of it… I would've put it somewhere in the middle with a tease for the main event also.
