With four Grand Slam titles already in his trophy cabinet at just the age of 21, the tennis fraternity has been indulging in discussions about how many Grand Slam titles Carlos Alcaraz will end up winning. Boris Becker, who coached 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, predicted that Alcaraz can win major titles at least in double digits.

Alcaraz scripted history when he won the French and Wimbledon this year. While his French Open victory made him the youngest player to win major titles on all three surfaces, he became the youngest to win both the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year.

Look, I think the sky is the limit for Alcaraz. The question is, how long can he stay hungry, and how long can he stay injury-free.

Alcaraz is leading the next generation with four major titles, but he has made himself clear that he is not satisfied with just four of them. He wants to keep going to see himself sit at the top where the likes of Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer are – with 24, 22, and 20 Grand Slam titles.

Alcaraz is also featuring in doubles with Rafael Nadal, the ‘dream pair’ the tennis fraternity is going ‘crazy’ about. Even Boris Becker has expressed his excitement about it.

Alcaraz must feel amazing after winning Wimbledon and this partnership with Nadal is one in the history books. Everyone will be watching, for sure.

The Spanish team will face Argentina’s Andres Molteni and Maximo Gonzalez in the first round to kick-start their doubles campaign. Nadal is also set to play singles, although he may pull out of it because of a thigh niggle he picked up during the practice session. He is bidding to win his third gold medal, having won the gold medal in singles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics in doubles.
