Tennis legend Boris Becker reacted to a recent picture of Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic hanging out a few days before the US Open gets underway. The former German player admitted that it would have been unlikely for Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi to hang out like Djokovic and Sinner.

Djokovic and Sinner are the two main favorites to win the US Open. Sinner arrived in New York having won five titles this season, including the Australian Open in January. He recently won the Cincinnati Open after failing to win the Canadian Open. On the other hand, Djokovic experienced a difficult run at the beginning of the season.

The Serbian failed to win any title and reached his first final of the year at Wimbledon. However, he managed to put all the disappointment behind him by winning the elusive gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Ahead of the US Open, which kicks off on August 26, Sinner and Djokovic were pictured together in New York.

Becker reacted to the picture of the duo by stating that it highlighted the change in dynamics in the sport. He added it would have been hard for rivals like him, John McEnroe, or Ivan Lendl to spend time together just before a Grand Slam gets underway.

Nice picture! Imagine in my days hanging out with John, Ivan or Jimmy …impossible! Maybe with Stefan, Mats !? Don’t think Andre or Pete would hang out together ( with me ) few days before the Open starts !!!Different strokes for different folks !@usopen @DjokerNole @janniksin.

Sinner will play American Mackenzie McDonald in the first round of the US Open. The Italian is seeking his second Grand Slam of the year after exiting the French Open and Wimbledon in the semifinals and quarterfinals, respectively.

Novak Djokovic handed a fair US Open draw, will returns to action for the first time since Paris Olympics

Novak Djokovic skipped the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open after winning gold at the Paris Olympics. He will be playing the US Open without any hard court preparation, but that wouldn’t be a problem for the Serbian. In June, he missed two grass court events but ended up reaching the final at Wimbledon.

The Serbian will open his US Open campaign against Romanian qualifier Radu Albot. In the second round, he will likely face either Serbian Laslo Djere or Germany’s Jan-Lernnard Stuff. He might face Canadian Open champion Alexei Popyrin in the third round before a possible fourth-round contest against either Ben Shelton or Frances Tiafoe.

If Djokovic does win his four opening matches, he might face either Andrey Rublev or Grigor Dimitrov in the quarterfinals. The 37-year-old is seeking his 25th Grand Slam as well as a successful defence of his US Open title.
