Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are getting all sorts of compliments for their dominating performances on the men’s tour. The two youngsters have taken over as two of the Big Three – Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal – are no longer active on the tour. Even Novak Djokovic plays in selected tournaments.

Amid this dominant show, former German tennis ace Boris Becker has come up with an interesting claim. Djokovic’s ex-coach has found Federer’s and the Serbian’s replacements in Sinner and Alcaraz. Becker has claimed that Alcaraz’s game is pretty much similar to that of Federer and Sinner plays like Djokovic. The former World No.1 feels that Alcaraz’s game aesthetics are quite similar to what Federer possessed.

We can define Sinner and Alcaraz as the Djokovic and Federer of the future, although we need to make due proportions. Roger and Nole have made the history of this sport, as has Rafa Nadal. Alcaraz’s style of play, in terms of beauty, is more similar to the Swiss even if his idol has always been Rafa. From a purely stylistic point of view, you can compare the Spaniard to Federer and the Italian to Djokovic.

It is worth mentioning that Alcaraz has openly admitted that he wants to play like Federer. The Spaniard had said in March this year that he wanted to imitate the Swiss’ style of play.

I’ve seen a lot of Jannik’s matches lately, he’s really in shape. Since the US Open, he’s clearly been playing his best tennis. As for ‘Nole’, he’s similar. His style is very similar, especially in terms of consistency. Jannik never goes under par, he always plays at a very high level and brings top-quality tennis to the court. He puts great speed into his shots and pushes his opponents away from the baseline.

Boris Becker said

Sinner has been very consistent this season, winning seven titles, including the two Grand Slam titles – the Australian Open and the US Open. The 23-year-old has made it to the quarterfinal in every tournament he has played this season and has a win percentage of over 90%.

The reigning US Open champion most recently beat Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters final to take their head-to-head record to 4-4, which stood at 1-3 before 2023. Sinner has also cemented the World No. 1 ranking and sits on top with a massive 11,920 ranking points, 4,800 points ahead of second-placed Carlos Alcaraz.
