“I can’t stand it,” De’Aaron Fox criticizes the current quality and standard of college basketball
Amidst the drama surrounding the ongoing March Madness, De'Aaron Fox called out the declining quality of players and coaches in Collegiate Basketball.
Former Kentucky and current Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox has stamped his authority in the wild Western Conference. Fox along with Domantas Sabonis is having a season for the ages, being the beacon of hope for the Kings fans. The duo has led the Sacramento Kings to the third seed in the West with an impressive 45-29 record. The Kings are on the verge of ending their 16-year-long playoff drought.
On the other hand, the NCAA Division 1 men’s tournament has reached its elite eight stages. Viewers from across the country have been closely involved in March Madness but Fox doesn’t seem to be one of them. In a recent interview, Fox expressed his disappointment over the decline in the quality of the tournament. The All-Star went “I can’t watch a full college game, it’s hard. The shot-making is not at the pro level. The refs are bad. A lot of coaching is really bad. I can’t stand it.” Fox received criticism for his comments and one fan was quick to point out the fact that the Louisiana vs. Tennessee game drew in 3.48 million viewers, while the NBA playoffs last year drew in 3.71 million viewers.
Fox is having a stellar season, averaging 25 points, 6 assists and 1.2 steals per game at an efficiency of 51.8 percent. The highlight of his season has been his numbers in the 4th quarter, which rightfully put him on top of the Clutch Player of the Year ladder.
