Tee Higgins points out the ‘big’ mistake Bengals made in overtime that cost them win over Ravens

The Cincinnati Bengals took home a painful 41-38 overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, dropping to 1-4 on the season. The Bengals let a 10-point fourth-quarter lead slip away, despite an impressive performance from quarterback Joe Burrow.
On Sunday, a stellar Burrow completed 30-of-39 passes for 392 yards, five touchdowns, one interception, and a passer rating of 137.0. It was one of the best quarterback performances of the season, helping the Bengals to leads of 24-14 in the third, and 38-28 in the fourth quarter. However, at the end, it was all for nothing.
Cincinnati failed to utilize a golden opportunity when the Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson mishandled a shotgun snap. Jackson had a good game completing almost 350 yards and four touchdowns with zero turnovers. Despite being in good field position, the Bengals gained only three yards on three plays.
They set up a 53-yard field goal attempt by kicker Evan McPherson, but an imperfect snap led to a missed kick. The Ravens regained possession and capitalized on Jackson-Derrick Henry‘s chemistry to seal the victory.
Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase expressed disappointment in the team’s conservative approach. He stated that they should have pushed harder to secure a first down. Fellow teammate Tee Higgins echoed these concerns, highlighting a missed opportunity to win the game before McPherson’s ill-fated kick.
Personally, I think we should have gone a little bit more aggressive in the first and second downs just to try to get Evan in better field goal range. You know he makes those from that deep. I’m not putting it on him at all, you know what I’m saying. So it’s a team effort, we lost as a team, but we could have did a better job at putting him in better field goal range to make it an easier kick.

The management has come under for underutilizing key stars Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, and Ja’Marr Chase, with all three exhibiting some serious game. Head coach Zach Taylor has however defended the play after the game.
Despite the loss, Burrow and Chase climb historic rankings
Despite the Cincinnati Bengals’ failure, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase achieved remarkable milestones. Burrow (28) and Chase (24) are now just the second quarterback-receiver pair under the age of 28 to record 14 touchdowns of 40 yards or more.
Burrow connected with Chase for two long touchdown passes, one of 41 yards and another of 70 yards The duo are only trailing John Hadl and Hall of Famer Lance Allworth.
Chase also made a mark individually with his 70-yard touchdown reception. At just 24 years old, he passed Odell Beckham Jr. for the third most touchdowns of 50 yards or more by a player under 25, with 11 such touchdowns. Furthermore, Chase has become just the third player in NFL history to have 10 touchdown receptions of 60 yards or more within his first four seasons.
In just their fourth season, Burrow and Chase became the fourth duo to connect on at least 14 touchdowns of 40 yards or more. With 14 TDs of 40+ yards, the duo is tied with Andy Dalton and A.J. Green, as well as Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson.
Nonetheless, the fact that they achieved this milestone in just their fourth season, faster than any other Bengals duo, sets them apart. The duo and Bengals play the New York Giants who are fresh off upsetting the Seattle Seahawks in their next game looking to bounce back.
