If Batman had superpowers, he would be Joe Burrow, or at least Superman. Tee Higgins certainly believes so. After the way Burrow pulled off a magical pass to Higgins in Week 16, the Bengals quarterback can pass for whatever superhero he wants to be.

After the Cleveland Browns turned the ball over midway through the first quarter, Burrow led the Cincinnati Bengals to first and ten in seven plays. On the eighth play of the drive, Burrow snapped the ball and hustled past the Browns blitz.

The Pro Bowl quarterback almost found himself in open space until his right leg grazed a Browns defender, causing him to lose his footing. Even though he was inches from hitting the turf, Burrow threw the ball, which landed straight into the hands of Higgins for the Bengals’ first touchdown on Sunday.

When reporters asked Higgins about Burrow’s pass, the Clemson graduate upgraded the 28-year-old’s superhero status.

Motherf**ker looked like Superman when he was throwing it. I’m calling him Superman from this day forward. F**k Batman, Superman.

Tee Higgins said

Burrow received the Batman title quite recently after buying a vintage Batmobile for himself. Well, he was already rich because of his contract, and now he can throw touchdowns while floating mid-air.

Joe Burrow sets a new record

Burrow’s season hasn’t gone unnoticed despite the series of losses for the Bengals. Even though his numbers are so good, analysts and Vegas have remained hesitant to make him part of the MVP conversation. Sunday’s performance changed that or at least made some progress.

Besides Higgins, Burrow further threw two touchdowns. In the second quarter, he found wide receiver Andrei Iosivas for a 6-yard touchdown, and then in garbage time, the LSU graduate hit his former Tigers teammate Ja’Marr Chase for a 32-yard homerun. The game finished 6-24.

Joe Burrow ended with 24 completions from 30 attempts for 252 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. This was Burrow’s seventh consecutive game of throwing 200+ yards and three touchdowns, surpassing Tom Brady with six as per CBS Sports. He will also become the 11th player to throw 40 touchdowns with one score on Sunday.

Chase crossed the 1500 receiving yards threshold, making him the single-season receiving yards record holder for the Bengals.

The win improved the 7-8 Bengals bid for a place in the playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Buffalo Bills have already booked their place. Teams such as the Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins are still in the hunt for the remaining wild card spots.
