Joe Burrow has been a revelation for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL) in the recent year. His entry to the Bengals roster has transformed the team drastically for the good. The team has been delivering good season by season, and has been regarded as a Super Bowl contender for their every outing in recent times.
After realizing their son had a future in football, Joe’s father trained him as his coach to bring out the best in him. Because Joe comes from a family of athletes, he had his dream set at a young age.
Burrow played his first football games in high school, in Ohio, where he won first seven playoff victories, first time in school’s history. After he won the Gatorade player of the year award and the state’s Mr. Football award in 2014, his career slowly took off.
Joe Burrow was selected in the first round of the NFL draft in 2020. The Cincinnati Bengals were quick to pick the winner of the 2019 Heisman Trophy. Burrow was quick to showcase his talent on the NFL turf. He became the first rookie quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards in three straight games, winning his debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars in process.
During the 2021-2022 season, he recovered from an injury and led his team to Super Bowl LVI final, making it their first appearance since Super Bowl XXIII in 1988. His most recent accomplishment was that on December 21, 2022. The Iowa born QB was chosen to play in the prestigious Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
Who are Jim Burrow and Robin Burrow?
The very talented QB was born to Robin and Jim on December 10, 1996, in Iowa. Coming from a family of athletes, he was quick to catch the pace and learned football coached by his father. While his mother always motivated him to reach the platform, he is on today.
Talking about Jim Burrow, his athletic background has been the most inspiring to Joe. Jim has been an All-Star defensive back in the NFL and even in the Canadian Football League.
The 1976 NFL draft saw Jim Burrow being selected by the Green Bay Packers, where he played as a cornerback. He retired with the accolades after playing for numerous teams and is now watching his son get early recognition.
After giving his all as a player, Jim started coaching the other budding players and retired as the defensive coordinator for the football team at Ohio University.
Likewise, Joe’s mother, Robin Burrow, worked at Eastern Elementary School as the administrator in Appalachian Meigs County, Ohio, contributing her best part to the family. She is also serving dual roles in school being a senior executive of the school that aims at improving the health and well-being of the children of the region.
Joe has a very supportive family which is seen in his posts and even in the stadium where the family is seen cheering for Joe.
