The Cincinnati Bengals have had a disastrous season this year going 6-8 through 15 weeks. Unfortunately for the team, their losing season has been on the defense rather than the offense. The Bengals have one of the best offenses in the NFL and that is because of Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.
Joe Burrow has created history since he arrived in Cincinnati. He set the record for the most touchdowns thrown in franchise history in the team’s 37-27 win against the Tennessee Titans. Burrow threw his 36th touchdown of the season in the game. If not for the Bengals’ losing record, he would be a frontrunner in the MVP conversation alongside Josh Allen.
The previous record was set by the same quarterback in 2022. Joe Burrow threw for 35 touchdowns that year and with still three games left in the season, he now has a chance to eclipse his earlier record by a significant margin this season.
Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have been phenomenal this year
Burrow has thrown for 3,977 yards and 8 interceptions so far. He leads the NFL in touchdowns and is third in terms of QBR with a rating of 74.5. His go-to wideout Ja’Marr Chase has been equally good with 102 receptions, 1,413 yards, and 15 touchdowns.
Chase leads the NFL’s receivers in receptions, yards, and touchdowns this season. He is averaging 12.5 yards per pass. It is disheartening to see their great performance this year go in vain. The Bengals will need to improve on their defense in the offseason if they intend to make a playoff push next season.

The Bengals are averaging 361.9 yards per game on offense. However, their defense sits at the bottom of the NFL in the 27th position averaging 365.5 yards per game. They have failed to play on the same level as the offense and that has proven to be costly for the franchise.
