Having four daughters is a big responsibility, and Matthew Stafford wanted nothing else. His wife recently revealed that the Los Angeles Rams quarterback, who has four daughters, never desired a boy, expressing his deep commitment to fatherhood.
The mother of four, Kelly Stafford reminisced her journey of motherhood on her recent appearance on the “Absolutely Not” podcast with host, Heather McMahan on Thursday. While talking about her children, she made a heartfelt confession about her husband, saying that he only wanted girls and never a boy.

However, Kelly isn’t quite upset that her wish for a boy hasn’t been fulfilled. She believes that if they had a boy, she would want him to be “better than” his father, the star quarterback. With such high expectations already set, she feels that a son would have faced immense pressure.
Kelly Stafford opens up about her role as a quarterback’s wife
Just like this wish of her husband, Kelly has embraced Matthew’s NFL life with open arms and a big smile. During last week’s episode of her “The Morning After” podcast, she opened up about how she dedicated numerous years of her life to her husband, as he embarked on his journey in the NFL from college football.
The couple have been together since the age of 19 as Kelly, and then married in 2015. Even though she lost herself while supporting Matthew and raising her children, she feels blessed with the life they have built together.
Initially, when Matthew first came into the spotlight, Kelly was hesitant to engage actively on social media. She wanted to avoid leveraging his fame to establish her own identity. As the wife of a prominent NFL player, she felt the pressure of public scrutiny and was determined to maintain her individuality.
