Ryan Clark names NFC’s best team and it’s not Jared Goff’s Lions

Dismissing the idea of Jared Goff’s Lions as the best team in the NFC, Ryan Clark advocated for Jalen Hurts' Philadelphia Eagles, 10-2.

With an impressive win over the Green Bay Packers, the Detroit Lions not only clinched a playoff spot but also took a lead in the NFC to enter the postseason as one-seed. However, Ryan Clark doesn’t seem quite convinced that Jared Goff’s Lions, 12-1, are the best team in the NFC; instead, he advocated for the Philadelphia Eagles, 10-2.

In the latest edition of ESPN’s Get Up, Clark entirely dismissed the question by his colleague Mike Greenberg, asking if he also considers the Lions the best NFC team. With a stern “nope,” he cut Greenberg off in the middle of his question and doubled down on how the Eagles are evidently the best team in the conference.

The Philadelphia Eagles are the best team [in the NFC]. Without a doubt. I have no problem saying that, and I love the Lions. I’m with you. I think the Lions are a team that has shown that they can win the football game in so many ways, and the way that they execute down the stretch shows how great of a strategist that Dan Campbell is… You lost too many good players to go beat a team that still has all of theirs.

With that being said, Clark emphazised the “continuity” quality of Philadelphia which gives them an edge against their rivals, including the Super Bowl favorite Lions. He also commended the players on Philly’s offensive and defensive lines for excellence on the field.

Eagles and Lions battle for supremacy as Vikings eye No. 1 seed in NFC

It can be debatable which team between the Eagles and Lions is better. However, they aren’t the only contender team in the NFC as the Minnesota Vikings stand a fair chance of outperforming them for the No. 1 seed in the conference.

However, unlike the Lions and Eagles’ strong quarterback positions, the Vikings cannot entirely bet their horses on quarterback Sam Darnold. This could mean that there’s a high chance that Goff and Jalen Hurts would have a face-off in the NFC Championship game to qualify for the Super Bowl.

For the remaining season, the Lions have a bit challenging schedule against the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, and the Vikings. On the other hand, the Eagles are scheduled against the Carolina Panthers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Commanders– which could be a challenge, followed by the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.
