Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc finished P3 after putting in a heroic drive for his team at the Abu Dhabi GP. He started P19 after receiving a 10-place grid penalty for a new energy store (ES).
Charles Leclerc was nevertheless dejected after failing to win the constructors’ title for his team. The Maranello-based team arrived at the Yas Marina circuit trailing leaders McLaren by 21 points. However, the Papayas clinched the win on Sunday, shattering Ferrari’s hopes.
Leclerc could be seen hitting his steering wheel in frustration after the race in Abu Dhabi. His race engineer and squad consoled him and also appreciated him for his stellar run at the Yas Marina circuit.

As the Formula 1 season concludes, Leclerc will have nothing but positives to take from this season. The upcoming year will offer him a second shot at glory with a much-improved side in the title race.

Ferrari finished behind champions McLaren in the 2024 season. After the Abu Dhabi GP, Charles Leclerc shared his thoughts on his team’s season after missing out on the title this year.
Leclerc concluded that his end result was affected because he started too far back on the grid. Nonetheless, he believes that he gave his best shot while trying to tackle an insanely fast McLaren team.
Charles Leclerc: I knew I had to be very aggressive, I knew I had to take all the risks. This was achieved, but we just started too far back. I think we've done the maximum, but this hurts. It was a hard hit on Friday, knowing we had the penalty.

The Maranello-based team started the race in a convincing manner, making stable increments on the medium compound tires. But after the first pit stop, the Papayas were faster on the hard set of tires. They closed the gap to as many as seven seconds but ultimately lost the race in Abu Dhabi.
