Jesus Navas gets emotional after playing his last game in the threads and backyard of Sevilla as they secure a hard-fought win in La Liga.

It was an emotional last outing for a Sevilla hero, Jesus Navas, as he played his last game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Despite the fact that Navas will be playing his last game at Santiago Bernabeu on the 22nd of December, yet appearing for the last time in the threads of Sevilla in front of his home crowd left him emotional.
Marching onto the pitch, Jesus Navas choked back the tears as he was on the cusp of an emotional paroxysm on the touchline before being ushered in with a guard of honor. To add to his overwhelming emotions, fans were serenading him and a massive tifo being dangled in one of the stands in his honor, Navas posed for a picture with his teammates ahead of the kick-off.
Jesus Navas has been a phenomenal presence in the footballing echelons. From a total of 885 matches, he smashed 47 goals while knitting together 154 assists. Navas started his footballing career for Sevilla and was a part of the Spanish outfit until the 2011-12 season. Following his sensational rise, Navas made a move to Manchester City in 2013-14.
After four seasons at Etihad, he returned to his boyhood club, and finally after playing for seven seasons again, Navas is all set to bid adieu to his footballing days. His Spanish teammate Sergio Ramos also joined him in 2023 as he arrived at Sevilla too.

It was a thrilling win for Sevilla as they edged past Celta Vigo in a neck-to-neck battle. Manu Bueno managed to find the back of the net, scoring the solitary goal that differentiated between the two sides.
It has been more of a mixed-bag run for Sevilla so far in the tournament. However, for their counterparts in their latest La Liga fixture, it hasn’t been a great run either.
From 17 games, with six wins and four draws, Sevilla has so far managed to amass 22 points. From the last five games that they have played so far, they have amassed two wins while losing out on two games.
Despite the departure of Jesus Navas, Sevilla will be hopeful of keeping their momentum intact in the ongoing edition of La Liga, hoping to climb higher up the ladder of the tournament for the ongoing iteration.
