Barcelona roll hard to register Dani Olmo ahead of winter transfer window as 'short fix' deployed earlier is no longer an option.

What started as a phenomenal season for Barcelona, has slowly fizzled after they could snatch just a solitary win from the last five La Liga games. The early momentum has now evaporated as they dropped to the third position with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid taking over. For Barcelona, the presence of Dani Olmo has had plenty of positives.

Unfortunately, the Catalan giants might run short of that option as well. Dani Olmo was forced to wait until the third week of La Liga before registering him in the La Liga. He came off the bench to score a late winner against Rayo Vallecano and pulled off the imaginary watch celebration. Barcelona had to go through a bit of struggling times in order to incorporate Olmo despite their funds running low.

Barcelona could afford Olmo then because of the sudden injury to Andreas Christensen. The rules of La Liga state that 80 percent of an injured player’s salary can be reallocated for a new squad member. However, the scheme won’t work any more considering the fact that Christensen is back and the six-month temporary contract which was handed over to Olmo will run out as well.

As reported by Marca, Barcelona has shifted to court in order to register Dani Olmo. Given the fact that the ex-La Masia graduate’s contract runs out on December 31, they wanted a precautionary measure in place to incorporate Olmo in January. The hearings of the appeal made will be declared on 27th December.

If this process does not go in favor of Dani Olmo, then Barcelona will have to start the process of registering the Spanish international from scratch. However, in case of an extension, Barcelona can source more funds by offloading more players in the January transfer window, thereby opening up more space financially to accommodate Olmo.

Hansi Flick has expressed interest in Marcus Rashford

In a report by Football365, Hansi Flick has approved the targeted purchase of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United while the Catalans might trade out an off-element Ansu Fati to Old Trafford. Rashford’s recent numbers have witnessed him falling from grace at Manchester United and Flick believes that he might find a way at Camp Nou.

Despite the initial interest of Manchester United in Ansu Fati, the Red Devils have been cited to show a lack of fascination for the Spanish winger. This happened due to the inconsistent form of the Barcelona player. Even if the Catalan club offered a swap deal, the Red Devils will insist on someone other than Fati. However, at the moment, it is all just a rumor. Moreover, other teams are also interested in Rashford.

The Catalans have hit a new low off late as they suffered a defeat against Atletico Madrid in their latest La Liga fixture. They went down fighting against Leganes in the week prior while drawing with Real Betis despite surging ahead twice in the game. Flick will need a magical uplift in order to get Barcelona back to winning ways and keep their title hopes alive.
