The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a tough overtime loss at the hands of the Washington Commanders, however, the players are making headlines for an entirely different reason. The NFC South team’s players are labeled as “rude” on social media after certain clips went viral on social media, especially involving Matthew Judon

A video has gone viral on the internet recorded by a heckler standing near the sideline and trying to get the attention of the Falcons players. Although he couldn’t retrieve much reaction from the first player, Judon’s frustration appeared to have peaked.

It happened before the overtime contest when the Falcons players were going toward the locker room to strategize for the overtime. The outside linebacker was caught in a heated moment with a heckler, where he ended up throwing his phone before making his way out of the football field.

The smashing of the phone didn’t seem to calm Judon down as he vented his frustration later on the field during overtime. Channelizing all his frustration, he recorded four tackles– including two for a loss and sacked quarterback Jayden Daniels once. However, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory.

Even though the Falcons tied the score at 24 against the Commanders, they couldn’t utilize the overtime to their advantage and failed to keep the opposing defense out of the endzone, resulting in the 30-24 loss. While the Bucs clinched a playoff berth after this victory, the Falcons’ playoff hopes became slimmer.

Raheem Morris takes blame for Falcons’ loss of Week 17

After enduring the tough loss, head coach Raheem Morris took the blame for the loss upon himself, claiming that if the Falcons had called for a timeout in the final quarter of the game, things may have turned in their favor.

However, they opted to run a hurry-up play and had to settle for a 56-yard field goal attempt.

In hindsight, it could have been a good decision or a better decision to take that timeout, but I wanted to have the opportunity to move up there. You always second-guess those things, you can always second-guess those motives. You can always go back and look at it and see if you can get it snapped a little bit quicker.

Raheem Morris said in the post-game press conference.

He justified his decision saying that he was saving the timeout for a better usage but after the game, he came to realize that it would have been a better usage at that moment. With an 8-8 record, the Falcons are now headed for the final game of the season against the Carolina Panthers.
