Despite not being a top superstar in WWE, Omos is beloved by many fans. He appears to be a relatively boring character on TV. However, watching any of his videos outside of wrestling will make one realize that the Nigerian is a highly charismatic individual. In fact, he recently made waves on social media once again for his real-life antics.

On December 28th, Omos was spotted in the iconic Nintendo Store present in Tokyo, Japan. Many wrestling fans noticed the 30-year-old browsing through the shelves while towering over the rest of the crowd present at the shop.

The former Tag Team Champion is currently in Japan because of his Pro Wrestling Noah debut scheduled for January 1st. He is set to team up with Jack Morris to challenge Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura for the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship at Noah The New Year 2025.

Omos has only had two televised matches in 2024. He participated in the Royal Rumble this year. He was later seen in the Andre the Giant Battle Royale on the night before WrestleMania. Since then, he has not competed in a professional wrestling match for any company, even at live events. Despite his underutilization, he seems to have no ill will against the company and even commented on rumors that WWE had given up on him.

What happened to Omos’ push in WWE?

Just about 18 months ago, it seemed as if WWE wanted to push Omos to become one of the biggest superstars in the promotion. He was given a WrestleMania match against Brock Lesnar. Furthermore, he entered into a feud with Seth Rollins just a month later at Backlash. However, it all started to go downhill for the giant shortly after.

After Backlash Puerto Rico, he became a mainstay at WWE Live Events and some media appearances. He only appeared on television for multi-man matches, such as the Slim Jim Battle Royale at SummerSlam 2023. While it is unknown what exactly happened to his push, many believe that it may be related to Vince McMahon.

Although the former chairman had already retired from WWE, he still had some backstage influence in the company. His influence only dwindled down in mid-2023, when the regime changed permanently. Now, Omos was always said to be a “Vince McMahon guy” and it is said that the company stopped pushing him after the 79-year-old got pushed out of the company. Austin Theory‘s singles push also severely lost momentum around this time.

However, it is worth noting that WWE has still not released him despite not using him at all. In fact, he does not even appear at live events anymore. This indicates that the company may still want to use him but does not know how at the moment. After all, the current regime is unlikely to put a wrestler on TV if they do not have many creative plans for him.
