The Los Angeles Clippers fans should start celebrating soon if they haven’t already. This is because their star man Kawhi Leonard could return to NBA action soon. In a video that was uploaded to his X account on Friday, Leonard appeared to hint that he would shortly make a comeback from a knee injury.

The two-time champion has yet to play in the Clippers new arena. At one point in the video, Leonard switches on the radio, and an announcer states that Leonard will return to the court soon. After that, two different Leonards converse with one another, and one of them states:

There’s been good days, there’s been bad days, but I keep coming back. It’s the nature of the game.

Due to a knee injury that kept him out of four of the Clippers’ six playoff games last season, Leonard, 33, has not yet played this season. Only a few months after the NBA season concluded, Leonard tried to represent Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. However, Boston Celtics guard Derrick White was chosen to take his position.

It was finally revealed that Leonard would miss multiple games and a timeline for his return remained unknown at that point. But according to a report by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on December 10, Leonard practiced for the first time this season. Also, he should be ready to play again in two weeks “barring any setbacks.”

Earlier this season, Clippers HC Ty Lue offered an exciting take on Kawhi Leonard’s return

Star player Kawhi Leonard has missed the majority of the season due to injury. The Clippers hold a 18-13 record without their star player leading. After the game against the Houston Rockets, Tyronn Lue, the Clippers’ head coach, was pleased with Leonard’s progress on his road to recovery. This was because he just resumed light practice.

It raised our energy. Just for our guys to see him on the floor brought a juice to our team. We needed that jolt.

Ty Lue told the reporters

After 31 NBA games or roughly one-fourth of the season, the Clippers have a winning record. The team is ranked fourth on defense and twenty-third on offense in terms of offensive and defensive ratings. The Clippers are now ranked fifth in terms of net ratings. Also, many supporters are thrilled about the team’s potential given the possibility of a healthy Kawhi Leonard returning.
