Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet have been dating each other since 2020. With the pair making their relationship official in 2021, the Dutchman also became the stepfather of Penelope, Piquet, and the Ex-F1 driver Daniil Kvyat’s kid. Despite him having a loveable bond with the five-year-old, her partner’s pregnancy might bring in a set of challenges, which Verstappen is aware of.
The 27-year-old is a four-time F1 world champion and has achieved massive records in his F1 career. With this, Max Verstappen always pondered about sparing time for his family. Her partner Kelly Piquet and Penelope have always been supportive of the Dutchman but have lacked personal time due to the hectic nature of the F1 world.
This dawning sense of reality always bit at the reigning champion. Moreover, he had intentions to quit the racing world after he had a kid. With his girlfriend announcing her pregnancy last month, Verstappen would soon enter parenthood and admitted that he is ready to face the challenges of having his own kid.
Verstappen has had decent experience as Penelope’s stepfather. The pair has often stolen the hearts of fans and with the Dutchman having the experience of being a bonus dad, he is expected to fare well in the task of parenthood.
The 2021 season holds a special place in Max Verstappen’s heart
While Verstappen ponders over the new challenges that he might face, he is still involved in the F1 world. Though he claimed that 2023 was his favorite campaign, 2021 still holds a special place in his heart.
In 2021, the 27-year-old won 10 races and beat the then-reigning champion Lewis Hamilton in an epic season finale. The circumstances in which he secured the title, were no short of being a miracle. Verstappen is aware of this and confessed that he was overwhelmed with emotions after winning his maiden title.
On the other hand, Verstappen would be aiming to win his fifth driver’s title next year. This would match the record of the Ex-F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio and set him even closer to the elusive seven-title mark. The Dutchman is expected to go all-out during the next season and assert that his reign over F1 will not get over easily.
