“He’s gonna be 42 bro!” Bryce James believes LeBron James would retire before he could get drafted into the NBA
Bryce James is currently in his senior year in high school.
Bryce James talks about the possibility of playing with his father
A day after the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Bronny James, making him and LeBron the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time, fans have started wondering if Bryce James will also get a chance to play with his father in the NBA.
The sports media is now speculating about the possibility of Bryce James entering the NBA while his dad, LeBron, is in his 40s. During an Instagram live session with a friend, Bryce was asked by fans about playing with his dad. He immediately shut down the idea, pointing out that it would be too much for his dad, who would be 42 by then.
I ain’t going to lie - that’s OD. Waiting until I… Nah, that’s too much. They said my dad is still going to be in the league when I get drafted. That’s too much. Nah. Look, he’s 39. He’s going to be 42, bro.Bryce James said on Instagram live
Bryce was being realistic with his answer, noting that the thought of playing with his father was far-fetched. Currently in his senior year of high school, Bryce has shown great physicality and athleticism. His brother Bronny was a McDonald’s All-American in his senior year, and Bryce hopes to earn the same title.
While fans want to see Bryce play with his father, it could be a possibility, as LeBron isn’t showing any signs of backing down. He remains the biggest star player of the Los Angeles Lakers and is looking to win his fifth championship.
LeBron James could play for the Lakers till he turns 42
The Los Angeles Lakers have found a new coach in JJ Redick and are now determined to offer LeBron James a three-year extension, which would keep him with the team until he is 42 years old. The deal is said to be worth around $160 million.
With LeBron’s younger son Bryce also potentially playing in the NBA, there is a possibility of them playing together. LeBron has a $51.4 million player option on his contract that must be decided soon.
LeBron averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game last season, which was his 21st, and he was an All-Star for the 20th time. As he shows no signs of slowing down, we can expect him to sign the extension, especially with Bronny now in the picture.
