After the longest gap in his career, Gervonta Davis returned to the spotlight. Furthermore, ‘Tank’ fought against Frank Martin in the same fight card as David Benavidez vs. Oleksandr Gvozdyk. As such, Davis could easily overcome his ring rust with a stunning eight-round knockout.
In the first round, Davis quickly positioned himself at the ring’s center. Subsequently, Martin began to pressure with his jabs, but Davis was able to push him back. Martin continued throwing several jabs, and Davis countered with a quick strike. It became clear that Martin was the only one trying to attack at this point, and Davis maintained his cool.
Davis continued to show his reflex in the second round, but Martin kept strategically throwing punches. This continued till the sixth round, but Martin won several rounds in the first half. In addition, Davis began to fight back steadily and did not keep his guard up across most rounds. Martin appeared hesitant while attacking and remained quick with his feet. However, Davis managed to keep up with him and kept pushing him back against the rope with his pressure.
Even though Davis did exceptionally well in the first half of the fight, he increased his punches from the seventh round. This is a tactic that Davis often employs in most of his fights. Martin began defending shots instead of countering, and Tank continued to throw his shots. Subsequently, he knocked him out with a solid left punch, just the way he desired.

Martin showed his resilience and bravery in this fight across most rounds. In addition to winning the beginning rounds, Martin continued to show his incredible footwork. However, his ability to maneuver across the ring was not enough against Gervonta Davis. This is because Tank kept going after him and even pressured him against the ropes.
Subsequently, after the sixth round Davis threw several big shots which even messed. This highlighted how he was preserving his energy during the beginning rounds. Fans were completely in awe after Davis successfully defended his title and remained undefeated. They also liked the backflip that Tank landed after the referee counted Martin out. Furthermore, Tank also managed to score a stunning knockout, causing fans to compliment his power. Fans also discussed how Martin’s fight was great, but it wasn’t enough for Davis.
