Daniil Medvedev is an interesting character. The Russian tennis ace never fails to entertain the fans, even when he is frustrated. During his match against Alexei Popyrin at the 2024 Paris Masters, Medvedev became a part of a hilarious incident.
The World No. 5 launched his racket into the air in frustration. It went way too high and as it was coming down, Medvedev stood with his arms open to catch it.
However, the tennis ace could not close his arms in time and the racket slipped in between. It landed on the ground and ricocheted off the hard court.
Medvedev was then seen running for cover and protecting himself from the same racket he launched into the air a few seconds ago. The video of the incident went viral on social media with fans having a laugh about it.

Daniil Medvedev admits his behavior last year was uncalled for
Daniil Medvedev is not new to beefing with the crowd. The 2021 US Open champion has a history of getting involved with the spectators. Sometimes it ends well, but sometimes things get ugly, like it happened at the 2023 Paris Masters.
During his match against Grigor Dimitrov, Medvedev refused to continue with the match after he was booed by the crowd for smashing his racket. He shushed the crowd and then sat on a bench. Although Medvedev continued with the match fearing disqualification, he ended up showing the middle finger.
He later claimed that he was “checking nails”. Now, after a year, as Medvedev returned to play before the crowd in Bercy, he admitted his behavior last year was uncalled for.
He tried to fix things this year. Medvedev practiced with Carlos Alcaraz before the start of the tournament and was happy to get some love.
