The undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev issued a surprise callout. The combat sports community got behind the callout and wanted Paul to accept the bout. If so, it will become the first time that Paul has ever fought a top-level boxer. However, Paul took the callout as a compliment and boasted about the callout on social media.

Just seen this….top 5 pound for pound fighter in the world calling me out. Hahahahahaha. 4 years in and I run this sport.

It doesn’t look like Paul will face top ranked competition any time soon. Nevertheless, he has vowed to one day win a world title in boxing. Meanwhile, Beterbiev has unfinished business with Dmitry Bivol after their controversial undisputed title bout. As such, the chances of that fight happening remain slim for now.
