This moment could’ve started the Canadian singer’s admiration for Carter. He was always vocal about his admiration for the Toronto star in interviews, leading to up to his involvement in the ‘The Carter Effect’ documentary. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017 with Drake and LeBron James hugely involved in the production.
Apart from the jersey retirement, Drake also took the opportunity to fire shots at DeMar DeRozan. The Kings star had issued his response after the two were seen exchanging gestures after the game. Further escalation of things between the two is likely as the Kings will host the Toronto Raptors this week, with Drake possibly in attendance.
