Rudy Gobert and Russell Westbrook had a serious altercation

The Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves are brewing a new rivalry, given the shape of their recent meetings. This rivalry dates back to their last Playoff matchup this past season. Things got heated in their most recent match when Nuggets guard Christian Braun and Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert got into a scuffle.

The whole interaction turned into a huge brawl after Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook joined the scuffle. Although the whole crowd of players was quickly scattered by the officials, Westbrook was still trash-talking with the Timberwolves star. A video of the two arguing with clear audio has surfaced online, quickly gaining traction among fans.

In the heated exchange captured in leaked audio, Russell Westbrook confronted Rudy Gobert, telling him, “Don’t do that sht.” Gobert responded defiantly, asking, “What are you gonna do?” Westbrook then took the trash-talking to the next level by saying, “Don’t do that, n***.”

Aaron Gordon chimed in twice saying that Robert got dunked on, and even after they were separated, Westbrook didn’t back down and hyped up his teammate Braun, declaring, “Punched on his btch a*!

Late in the fourth quarter, Braun saw an opening where he hammered a powerful dunk on the French big man. He then taunted Gobert after the slam, which the big man did not take likely. The 7-footer immediately grabbed the Nuggets guard and shoved him. This altercation led to Westbrook charging at Gobert at full speed.

The officials took instant action, penalizing both Gobert and Braun with technical fouls. Westbrook was left unscathed without any penalties from the referees. However, the Timberwolves got the last laugh after securing a 119-116 victory against the Nuggets behind Gobert’s 17 points and 14 rebounds.

The Timberwolves and Nuggets gave fans a lot of entertainment in just four quarters. Counting in the scuffle between Braun and Gobert, it was a close-knit game between the two contenders. Gobert was all smiles after the Timberwolves emerged victorious and chalked up his on-court ‘drama’ to be a normal occurrence of the game.

Despite fans online clowning the French star for receiving dunks, he has been having quite a season. Gobert is currently totaling 12.7 points along with an impressive 11.8 rebounds in six games with the Timberwolves—good enough for the team to be favorites among a stacked Western Conference table.
