Jayson talks about his poor shooting form to the press.
After the Boston Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers 133–128 in game one of the Eastern Conference NBA Finals, Celtics’ star forward Jayson Tatum talked about his poor shooting form throughout the game. He even opened up about how he is glad that it did not affect the result of the game.
I’m so glad we won that game because I would have been sick.Said Jayson Tatum while talking about his late-game turnover.
It seemed like the turnover in overtime shifted all the momentum towards the Pacers, but then Tatum came back with an and-1 and a side-step 3-pointer to extend the Celtics’ lead.
Out of the 26 attempted shots, Tatum made only 12 of them. He clearly wasn’t happy with this conversion rate. However, he did manage to put on board 36 points, 4 assists, 12 rebounds, and 3 steals to get the Celtics over the line.
With these stats, Tatum was the scoring leader for game one, with Jrue Holiday coming in for the second position with 28 points.
The Celtics were down 114–117 in the dying seconds of the match when Jaylen Brown nailed a three-pointer and took the game to overtime, where, thanks to a number of turnovers from the Indiana Pacers, the Celtics won the encounter.
