A slightly furious Stephen A. Smith claimed that Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen is the quarterback who needs to defeat Patrick Mahomes and end the Kansas City Chiefs’ run. In the heated debate between Shannon Sharpe, Dan Orlovsky in the recent episode of First Take, Smith ascertained that Allen holds more requirements than any other player in the NFL.

Earlier, Sharpe and Orlovksy put across Lamar Jackson and Aaron Rodgers as possible contenders to beat Mahomes. However, a furious Smith slashed across their ideas, deeming them “nonsense”, and argued why Allen is the answer even ahead of Joe Burrow. Smith continued to put facts across to make his argument solid.

Smith pointed out that the question is who needs to defeat Mahomes, not Kansas City Chiefs? He stated that Josh Allen is the one who clearly needs to defeat Mahomes. He highlighted that Allen is 3-1 against Mahomes in the regular season and 0-3 in the postseason. This is why Allen needs to do something and defeat Mahomes.

The answer to this question is your boy Josh Allen. Let me tell you something right now because I know you want receipts, so I'm gonna give them to ya. We're talking about a Josh Allen who's 3-0 against Patrick Mahomes. Yo Shay Shay, he's 0-3 against Patrick Mahomes in the postseason.

Smith made it clear that what matters is the playoff, not the regular season. He digressed that Josh Allen’s stats are undeniable and his only shortcomings are when he plays Mahomes. This being the key reason why Allen is the one who needs to dethrone the reigning champion QB.

Josh Allen. 174 total touchdowns passing, rushing, and receiving since 2020, that's 23 more than anybody else during that same time period and the most in a four-year span by any player in NFL history. He's also got 75 turnovers in that SP, 14 more than anybody else.

Will Josh Allen and the Bills be the ones to stop the three-peat?

Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen is one of the best QBs in the league right now. Tom Brady, a week ago, ranked Josh Allen as the second best quarterback in the league. The legend has previously also said that Allen is the next QB to win his first Super Bowl. Can he?

Allen, who’s slimmed down a bit after a strict diet in the offseason, has even found an edge to overcome Mahomes. However, the Bills aren’t in the best of shape after undergoing serious cuts and offs in the past months. After trying to build a roster around Allen, they are now focusing on a different alternative. They are trying to groom a young offensive side to reach the standards of Allen.

Buffalo Bills start their campaign against the Arizona Cardinals in their home. They will eventually play the Chiefs in the middle of November at the Bills Stadium. If all goes well, they will meet again in the postseason.
