Chicago Sky star Angel Reese wore a split outfit to the WNBA Finals
Angel Reese has had one of the busiest offseasons of any WNBA star not playing overseas basketball. She has been on a few shows, attending fashion events and recording podcasts. All in a bid to improve her brand with the team she has at her disposal. But with game 5 of the WNBA Finals in New York, she could not miss it. The Chicago Sky rookie ended up becoming a star attraction on her own.
Before the game started, ESPN cameras started showcasing the celebrities attending the game. She stood up as they reached the Chicago Sky star to showcase her outfit. She sported a split top hanging from her neck made from the jerseys of the two WNBA Finals contending teams. On her left was the New York Liberty jersey featuring Breanna Stewart‘s name and number. While on her right was the Minnesota Lynx jersey that sported Napheesa Collier‘s details.
She posed for the entire video capture and photographs as those sitting nearby were amazed by the creativity of the outfit. It is not a surprise that she wanted this specific outfit, as just as Game 4 closed to tie the series, she had asked for designers to step up and make her one before Game 5 started.

Notable New York-based designer Jocelyn Hu heard her plea and created the outfit. Hu has a long history of creating one-off designer wear for basketball fans. This time, one of the most influential women’s basketball players in the world wore her one-off outfit, that too to the WNBA Finals.
Angel Reese slaying fashion choices despite some criticism
The Chicago Sky star’s fan following makes her an attractive source for designers to showcase their work. Throughout her debut WNBA season, she sported some nifty outfits. But since her profile skyrocketed in the season, this offseason, she has been sporting a lot of customized works. She was also a part of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York.
They usually reserve that for the who’s who of the fashion world—suggesting that the WNBA star is now considered one of the sporting world’s elite in fashion. But it has not all been smooth sailing for her. The star was part of a lingerie shoot that found criticism from some corners.
Then there are also those such as rapper Joe Budden, who feels the 22-year-old is doing too much. He feels she should rather slow it down a bit so as not to fan the flames of jealousy. But with a sleuth of activities lined up, there is no letting up from Angel Reese. The star works relentlessly to build her brand.
