On Saturday night, the hockey world suffered a major blow as 17-year-old star Connor Kasin tragically passed away. The youngster collapsed during a charity game after suffering a sudden ‘medical event’ in the middle of the game.
According to reports, Kasin was playing with a varsity team at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage, New York. This charity game was played in honor of Sabrina Navaretta, a 19-year-old Syosset graduate who passed away in a car accident last year.
Casin collapsed on the field at around 9 p.m. As per the press release by the officials, several civilians who attended the game rushed to the ice and performed CPR on him as they waited for first responders to arrive on the scene.
The young hockey star was rushed to a nearby medical facility. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at arrival. Massapequa High School would announce his death to the students and the families in a letter.
