Justin Jefferson is without a doubt the best wide receiver in the NFL. That means, the expectations week in week out is for him to come up with something spectacular. Against the Green Bay Packers earlier today, the WR helped his Minnesota Vikings go one better with playoffs seedings at stake.
The Vikings needed to win if they were to ensure they get a playoff bye. But they knew the Packers would not make it easy. They might have clinched a wild card berth, but with two more wins, they could clinch home field advantage.
After struggling throughout the first quarter, the Vikings opened the taps and held a commanding lead heading into the fourth quarter. Then, the Packers started to stage a rally which threatened to turn the game around.
At this stage, all the Minnesota Vikings had to do was either score or at least drive the clock down. On a 3rd and 5 with more than five minutes to go, Sam Darnold decided to throw down the middle towards a cutting Justin Jefferson. However, the throw was not within his immediate reach.
The highest-paid receiver stretched his right hand up high and away from him to stop the ball with the palm of his hand. He regained his composure and held the ball with one hand as he tried to perform a 360 spin on the next defender who ultimately stopped the WR.

The catch was wild enough for the clipping of it to go viral on social media. However, that catch did not result in a gain as an offensive penalty brought it back. However, the Vikings were not to be denied as they went on to win the game 27-25.
Justin Jefferson and Vikings to face off against Detroit Lions for NFC top honors
With this win, the Minnesota Vikings move to 14-2 and to top seed in the NFC. However, the Detroit Lions will play against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football to regain that spot. But it is their Week 18 matchup that should excite football fans.
Week 18 will see the Vikings go on the road to take on the Detroit Lions at their home. The winner will not only clinch the top seed in the NFC but will also win the NFC North division. With those at stake, it is unlikely that either team will rest their starters as both will look to earn a playoff bye.

That bye will be extremely important for either team as they would prefer to get that much needed rest. Moreso for the Lions as they have struggled with injuries towards the latter half of the season. However, if the Vikings win the game, it will be a fitting reply to those who have disrespected the franchise.
