The 2024 December marked a life changing moment for 2023 NASCAR cup Series champion Ryan Blaney. He married his longtime girlfriend Gianna Tulio, starting a new glorious chapter of his life. Though there are now the better half each other’s, there is one secret the Team Penske Racing driver would never share with Gianna.
The Champions Journal, a secret diary that was made by seven times Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, to be shared from one Cup champion to another with the contents of it being kept secret forever. Ryan Blaney has been holding on to it since winning the 2023 title, with his teammate Joey Logano handing if off to him. Now he has given to back to Logano who won the 2024 Bill France Cup.
Recently talking about The Champions Journal, Blaney explained how secretive it is. He seems to really cherish to be part of tradition, an opportunity only the Cup champions would have. The No:12 Penske Ford driver admitted that he is the only person who had read the diary and hasn’t even share details about it to his wife Gianna Tulio.
That’s a secret. The Champions Journal is something that, you know, a driver started, you know, over a decade ago and all the champions write in it. Each year it gets handed off to the next champion and the next champion. It was a fantastic chance. Only champions get to read. I haven’t shown it even to Gianna because it is a closed eyes’ only thing.

The No:22 Ford driver, who has gotten the diary for the third time, revealed that the journal contains unique and fun content. He highlighted that it was a big secret in the sport that many wants to known and sees it as one of the coolest things about being a champion.
They’re all neat in their own way, fun, unique to read. It’s fun that it’s such a big secret and that everyone wants to know what it looks like. We do a good job keeping it a secret. It’s honestly one of the coolest things about winning the championship.

The comments from Logano shows how much each champions cherishes the small tradition and how much each drivers wants to be part of it. It would be interesting to see if the contents of the diary would be made public anytime ever.
