Pitcher Walker Buehler gets ready for Fenway Park after signing a 1-year $21.05 million deal with the Boston Red Sox. His 2024 season was a rollercoaster ride with the regular season not being his best to his extraordinary performance at the World Series final.

Given his injury history, the Red Sox hopes to find the Buehler of the NLCS and World Series in their locker room rather than his regular season version. Red Sox and Buehler, a LA Dodgers all his career until now, has the physical contract pending according to industry sources.

While many have doubts over Buehler’s performance in 2025, several think it’s a good deal for 1-year. After his contract expires with the Red Sox, he can again decide on his career path, either re-signing with the team or going in another direction with a strong year.

One X user commented, “Goodbye king,” while another said, “Holy overpay! Kutter getting DFA’d for sure now.” Others congratulated the move noting, “Great move.” Check more fan reactions below:

Dodgers pitcher Landon Knack in an interview with Dough McKain of Dodgers Nation commented how Walker Buehler will be a great coach one day. He believes Buehler has the mind and personality to guide others in baseball.

While that may be a while in the future, the pitcher is currently looking forward to solidifying his stance as one of the best in the field. With Buehler’s addition, Boston is starting to look promising along with Garrett Crochet, Tanner Houck, Lucas Giolito, and Brayan Bello in the lineup.
