It has been almost thirteen years since Tiger Woods split with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren in 2013. Once considered one of the most iconic celebrity couples, Woods and Nordegren spent six years together before their divorce in 2010. Although iconic and much talked about by the golf community, this marriage had to be plagued by controversies throughout its course.
Despite the anomalies and controversies, Elin Nordegren preserves one memory from her marriage with Tiger that she holds close. In an interview back in 2010 with People magazine, she considers her wedding day with Woods as one of the happiest moments of their relationship.

Elin Nordegren had no clue that her relationship with Tiger Woods would get plagued in the manner it did. Jesper Parnevik, the golfer who had first introduced Nordegren to Woods, felt ashamed and guilty for the pain Nordegren had to endure. However, from the statements that she provided after the divorce, it is evident that Elin had given her heart and soul to love Tiger.
She describes their marriage day as one of the happiest moments of her life. As she quoted in the interview with People, “I loved him, we had so much fun, and I felt safe with him. Our wedding day was one of the happiest days of my life.”
After maintaining silence for quite some time, Elin Nordegren opened up about her grief from the relationship. When asked how she was coping with the new revelations and the split, she replied, “It is hard to describe the emotional roller coaster I have been on, and it’s not over yet. I am following the grief stages that I learned in my psychology studies: shock, bargaining, anger, depression- and I am still working on the last stage, forgiveness and/or acceptance.”
The betrayal by Tiger Woods had hurt Elin Nordegren to a magnitude unimaginable. She further revealed that it reignited her childhood trauma once again. She had two children with Tiger, and her hopes of having a happy and solid family were shattered.
Woods and Nordegren divorced in 2010 in the Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida. From the $100 million she received in alimony, she spent $12 million to purchase a mansion in Florida.
