Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta fired a Premier League title warning at Liverpool and Chelsea, confidently stating that the title race is ‘on’. The Spaniard manager’s comments came following the Gunners’ latest convincing 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Gunners claimed their second consecutive win over Crystal, just two days after having defeated them in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals. Gabriel Jesus continued with his great form, as he scored twice in the first 20 minutes to help Arsenal take an early lead.
Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice added to the scoreline. The win helped the club move back to the 3rd position on the EPL table and remain only a point behind second-placed Chelsea. It also helped them leap back into the title race.
Speaking after the match, a confident Mikel Arteta stated that the Gunners are now firmly in the title race, while also hoping to end their long-drawn trophy drought. He stated that the season is not even halfway, and the club’s recent return to winning ways has surely put them back on track.
Arteta also stated that the club is enjoying a good run, despite drawing the previous two games against Everton and Fulham. He repeated his previous claims that Arsenal deserved to win those drawn matches by a huge margin.

Arsenal will be hoping to continue with their great form, when they take on Ipswich Town next weekend. Meanwhile, both Liverpool and Chelsea will be hoping to maintain their lead on top of the table. The Reds face a tough challenge in Tottenham, while Chelsea face 16th placed Everton.
Mikel Arteta left ‘worried’ over Bukayo Saka’s recent injury
Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka’s injury might pose a new challenge for Mikel Arteta and his side. The 23-year-old was forced off the pitch in the 24th minute of their Premier League match against Crystal Palace, due to an apparent hamstring injury.
Bukayo Saka might remain out for the next few weeks, as he was seen leaving the stadium in crutches. He was replaced by Leandro Trossard, as the Gunners went on to claim a 5-1 win. Manager Mikel Arteta, while expressing concern, stated that the forward will be assessed this week by the medical team. He also stated that the injury occurred on Saka’s same leg that has created issues in the past.
Moreover, the Spaniard now faces a massive selection dilemma as Raheem Sterling also injured himself a day ago, while in training. It remains to be seen who the manager selects, with Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri being the other options.
