Not many would have thought that Liverpool would put six goals past Fraser Forster and Tottenham’s back line when the two sides met on Sunday. However, goals from Mohamed Salah, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz gave Liverpool fans six reasons to rejoice ahead of Christmas.
The win means that Liverpool will sit atop the Premier League table for Christmas, that too, with a four-point lead and a game in hand. Mohamed Salah had a special night against Tottenham as he grabbed up two goals and set up another two for his teammates.
Luis Diaz opened the scoring from a direct cross converted with a header, while Alexis Mac Allister also found the net with his head. James Maddison fought back for his side with a long range effort, although Salah’s brilliance in the second half sunk the hosts.

The manager also made it clear that he’s been answering the same question patiently for the last 18 months over and over. As things stand, Tottenham Hotspur is in 11th position, behind Brighton and Fulham, with 23 points to its name.
