While Ryan Garcia isn’t clear from his suspension, he is clear from his vandalism charges. This development happened after Devin Haney sued for assault and fraud over their controversial fight. Judge James P. Cooper III granted a civil compromise at the Airport Courthouse over the objections of the LA County District Attorney’s Office.
Ryan Garcia posted a message on social media today saying, “Case dismissed,” and thanked his attorney, Michael Goldstein. This relates to Garcia’s vandalism charges last summer in June at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills. At the time, fans felt the controversial boxer appeared to have lost control over himself. In recent times, things have changed for the better, including the compromise over vandalism charges.
However, the more erratic case of Devin Haney still persists; one that fight fans hoped would go lightly. Haney said his marketability was in shambles after April’s fight, where doped-up ‘King Ry’ came 3.2lbs above the hydration limit. According to Boxing Scene, last month, Haney also filed a lawsuit alleging assault, battery, fraud, and unjust enrichment.

It’s unclear whether Haney and his father, Bill Haney, will see the case through, hoping for a windfall from verdicts. This could make it problematic to set up a rematch if the case rolls either way. If the case fails, would Haney be happy to fight again? Will Garcia allow that fight? All signs point positively, but there’s just no telling.
Ryan Garcia amps up rematch chances with Devin Haney
Bill Haney’s upbeat attitude and his demands signal positive notions of interest. He has also asked Garcia to submit to the testing pool within 48 hours for a rematch with Devin (31-0, 15 KOs) next. It could very well be a softening-up sequence for a costly legal battle. A rematch would also be the only way for Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney to vie for his millions and get the money from PPV sales.
‘King Ry’ again expressed interest in the fight last weekend, perhaps with his latest triumph anticipation. The superstar boxer said he is training again and would be ready for it when the time comes. The left hook will prove deadly yet again when they face. At least, that is what Garcia hopes for. Yet again, he doubles down on his will to fight that match.
“We don’t duck fights or lawsuits. @RyanGarcia , you got 48 hours to enroll in VADA for the rematch. Clean competition, real standards. We’re always ready—are you? @Realdevinhaney stays focused, lawsuit or not. #NoExcuses #RealChampions #VADA #Rematch “#TeamHaney

The Haneys will need to ramp up their chances to generate more interest. They’d also need to clear some testing tampering and cross-of-interest claims associated with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). Garcia would soon be able to reapply for his license under the WBC didactics. Other than that, though, there is very little stopping that super fight again.
