Face of Sacramento Kings CLAPS BACK after ex-star drops insider news behind Mike Brown firing
De'Aaron Fox disputes the claims of rift between him and his former coach, Mike Brown in a rebuttal on social media.
Fox shuts down the rumors about rift with the coach
The Sacramento Kings fired their head coach, Mike Brown, a couple of days ago in a highly disparaging manner. When the news broke, the NBA community, along with other coaches in the league, was infuriated at the Kings’ ownership. Following his abrupt discharge, rumors started flying that it might have something to do with a rift between Mike Brown and his squad.
During his usual appearance on the show Run It Back, Lou Williams reported that the coach felt he was being singled out both behind the scenes and publicly. The insider also mentioned that he had heard about a falling-out between the coach and his franchise players, De’Aaron Fox and DeMar DeRozan.
Supposedly, DeRozan was asked to come off the bench, which led to the dispute, with the management ultimately siding with its players. However, Fox quickly rebutted the claims, calling the rumors purely imaginary in an NSFW response on X:
There was never any push back about anything. This narrative of us butting heads or me going to management saying anything is bullshit. So you can run with that if you want to. https://t.co/z5rBpWmail

The fact that Fox addressed the hearsay and retaliated shows fans that he and Coach Brown were always on good terms. The chemistry between the head coach and his franchise player was what contributed to their success in recent years.
With or without Mike Brown, Sacramento’s woes continue to hurt them. Sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 14-19 record, the Kings recently broke their six-game losing streak on Monday night after defeating the Dallas Mavericks. Next, the Kings will host the Philadelphia 76ers at Golden 1 Center to battle it out under the leadership of their new interim coach, Doug Christie.
Sacramento Kings’ owner still owes DeMar DeRozan a huge chunk of money
During the summer, the Kings signed DeMar DeRozan to a $76.7 million, three-year deal, acquiring him until 2027. The contract included several incentives and guarantees. However, since it is only his first year in Sacramento’s purple jersey, the Kings’ franchise still owes him over $50 million in payments over the next two years.

Despite being past his prime, DeMar DeRozan is putting up spectacular numbers on the scoreboard. At the age of 35, he still remains an elite mid-range shooter who can drive the ball to the rim. Not deviating too much from his career average, he continues to put up 20.9 points per game, with almost 4 rebounds and 4 assists—proving he is worth every penny he gets.
Deebo started out as the face of the Toronto Raptors, where he played the most significant part of his career. After his nine-year-long stay in Toronto, he’s been getting bumped around here and there—from a three-year stint with the Spurs to three years with the Bulls, and now another three with the Kings.
This progression suggests how his role has transitioned from a franchise player to a veteran. Once he gets his hands on those $50 million, his career earnings will surpass the $300,000,000 mark.
