From January 6, WWE’s flagship episodic show, Monday Night Raw, will begin streaming live on Netflix, ending a three-decade run on linear television. Amidst the growing anticipation, the OTT giant has unveiled a brand-new promotional poster for the red brand’s ‘Road to WrestleMania 41’ stretch. And they’ve done Kevin Owens dirty. As seen below, The Prizefighter’s bald.
Former WWE Superstar Baron Corbin was also taken aback by that graphic, and he asked, Where is Owens’ hair? tagging the self-proclaimed Undisputed WWE Champion. Clearly, one can deduce that Netflix’s graphic dept. has photoshopped that version of Kevin when he cosplayed “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on Raw in March 2022.
Apart from KO, other high-profile names who’ve made the cut for the Raw on Netflix poster include John Cena at the forefront. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Solo Sikoa are also featured on the men’s side of things. For women, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Becky Lynch have ended up on the advert. Lynch is close to making her return to WWE.
She last wrestled Liv Morgan inside the steel cage on Raw in late May. After that, her contract expired. She didn’t renew it immediately and decided to take some time off. The first episode of Raw on Netflix is expected to shatter a litany of records. Slated to emanate from the Intuit Dome, the premiere will see Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Travis Scott in attendance.
Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is expected to show up too. As of October, the sources at the arena told Fightful that they’re expecting The Final Boss to be present. Former AEW star Pentagon Jr. is also rumored to debut on that night.
WWE has loaded up the Netflix premiere of Raw
In addition to roping in some big-time faces for the Netflix premiere of Raw, WWE has announced three matches. In what could potentially be the main event, Roman Reigns is set for a grudge match against Solo Sikoa.
The Anoa’i family stalwarts will duke it out in a Tribal Combat to determine the rightful custodian of the Ula Fala. Next, CM Punk takes on Seth Rollins in a match that’s been years in the making.
These two have long harbored animosity for each other. Everyone, including the fans, is cognizant of their real-life beef, which makes their upcoming clash even more intriguing.
Last but not least, Rhea Ripley has a date with longtime rival Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship. They’ve been feuding since after WrestleMania XL in a rivalry that many believe has overstayed its welcome.
