In one of the most befuddling upsets in recent memory, LA Knight lost his United States Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames. That put an end to his 119-day title reign, in which he had eight successful defenses. Breaking his silence, Knight took to X. He wrote, “…to be continued.” It couldn’t have been more crisp.

A couple of weeks ago, Nakamura returned to WWE television for the first time since April. Fans had construed that the company doesn’t have any creative plans for the Japanese grappler. However, not only did he come back with a complete overhaul in his gimmick, he’s now a three-time US Champion. The Wayward Samurai proved that Knight was indeed vulnerable to mind games.

The Megastar was visibly off last night at Survivor Series. The armory lacked ammo, and his never-give-up attitude subsided as Shin started to unload. Another factor that could’ve contributed to Knight’s woes was the fact that Nakamura spilled the poison mist in LA’s face a day before Survivor Series on SmackDown. Was The Megastar’s vision hampered? It could’ve been.

A loss for Knight was something the fans hadn’t suspected. In fact, most of them thought that it would be a cakewalk for The Defiant One. But not on Shin’s watch. He silenced his naysayers by winning a singles title in WWE at 44 years old. Back in August at SummerSlam, Knight took the US title off Logan Paul.

The IMPAULSIVE host received flak for fewer title defenses. Thus, when Knight dethroned The Maverick, the WWE Universe was ecstatic. The former Eli Drake stood on his promise of being a fighting champion. However, he’s lost control now. It’d be interesting to see when he’s able to get it back.

Contenders await Shinsuke Nakamura ahead of his unfinished business with LA Knight

After Shinsuke Nakamura‘s shock title win, he’s set to usher into SmackDown with a grimace. As insinuated by LA Knight‘s reaction above, he’ll come after The King of Strong Style. However, the mid-card scene on the blue brand is about to heat up.

Last Friday, Shinsuke earned a controversial win over Andrade. The latter would be gunning to get his lick back on the brand-new US Champ. Apart from that, Carmelo Hayes is another contender who’s ravenous for glory. He may end up crossing paths with Nakamura soon.

For the time being, Shin can relish his exploits from Survivor Series: WarGames. But sooner than later, he’s going to be challenged by someone worthy of a title shot. It just needs to be seen who’d make that first move.
