On a WWE calendar, it’s arguably the worst time for a superstar to get injured right now. With Netflix’s Raw premiere lined up for January 6, the road to WrestleMania 41 isn’t too far off either. Earlier today, LA Knight was deemed injured by Leukens Wine & Spirits. In a now-deleted post they made on X, Knight was pulled from an appearance on December 27.

Fellow wrestler Braun Strowman was named as the replacement. However, it doesn’t seem like Knight is out with any injury-related issues at all. Per Sean Ross Sapp, The Megastar is fine. That news couldn’t be more positive and relieving for the fans. On SmackDown, he’s currently reeling in the Bloodline vortex. Last Friday, the 42-year-old took on Solo Sikoa in singles action.

LA couldn’t win; neither did he lose, as the match ended in a DQ when Jacob Fatu played spoilsport. Shortly after that, Andrade and Apollo Crews also made their way out to even up the odds for Knight against Fatu, Sikoa, and Tama Tonga. A 6-man tag team match is set between them for the upcoming SmackDown edition that’s already taped.

The Defiant One has already made it clear that he doesn’t care about a ‘dysfunctional’ family like the Bloodline. He even made fun of the revered Samoan garland when he mispronounced it as “ufa lafa” during a backstage interview with Byron Saxton.

Brushing aside Sikoa and his men, Knight’s still focused on fetching a US title shot from Shinsuke Nakamura. As the fans saw at Survivor Series: WarGames, the Wayward Samurai dethroned the former Eli Drake to capture the US title for the third time in his career.

LA Knight’s grit paid off big time in 2024

The past twelve months have been quite topsy-turvy for LA Knight. In April, he made his WrestleMania debut. While doing so, he upset former 2-time WWE Champion AJ Styles. In July, Knight came close to becoming Mr. Money in the Bank for the second year in a row but couldn’t get it done.

The Megastar finally turned things around for himself in the summer. On August 1, at the Cleveland Browns Stadium at SummerSlam, the former Max Dupri pinned Logan Paul to become the United States Champion. That was his first singles title in WWE.

It was a new high in Knight’s WWE career. He went on to have a successful reign that lasted 117 days before Shinsuke Nakamura crossed paths with the man who oozes an outspoken charisma. With 2025 almost here, the Maryland native would be hoping the new year brings him more glory.
