The second match of the Women’s US Title tournament took place on the latest episode of SmackDown. Similar to last week’s showdown, this week’s triple threat bout exceeded fans’ expectations. Bianca Belair took on Chelsea Green and Blair Davenport. The EST of WWE looked in cruise control of the match before rushing to the back, allowing Green to take advantage and pick up the win.
In the closing stretches of the bout, Belair hit an incredible 450 splash on Davenport. Furthermore, she laid out Green on the outside. Just as she was about to put an end to the bout, the cameras panned to the parking lot. Belair’s tag team partner, Jade Cargill, was shown laid out on a car. Thereafter, a conflicted Belair ultimately decided to rush to her friend’s aid backstage.
Back in the ring, Green and Davenport went back and forth for a little while. The Hot Mess eventually hit the Unprettier and advanced to the next round of the tournament. As such, the 33-year-old star will meet Bayley in the next round of the tournament. With one side of the bracket complete, the other matches remaining will presumably take place in the coming weeks.

The tournament is set to culminate at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where the inaugural Women’s United States Champion will be finally crowned. With Chelsea Green emerging as one of the favorites to win the title, it will be interesting to see if WWE pulls the trigger on her. As for Belair, she might have to solve other issues before targeting singles gold again.
Bianca Belair accompanies Jade Cargill in ambulance following beatdown
Straight after the match ended, Bianca Belair went backstage, where several officials, Naomi and Bayley, stood by the ambulance. Belair told Bayley to stay out of her business before accompanying Jade Cargill to the hospital.
As of yet, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis is unaware of who brutally attacked one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Aldis questioned Nia Jax backstage, who denied the accusations. Jax claimed that she was with Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae at the time of the assault.

For those unaware, Jax will be one of Belair and Cargill’s opponents at the upcoming Survivor Series PLE inside WarGames. However, it seems unlikely that The Storm will make it in time for the event after suffering the brutal beatdown on SmackDown.
