The opening match of Saturday Night’s Main Event saw Drew McIntyre taking on Sami Zayn. McIntyre returned a couple of weeks ago and began attacking the OG Bloodline members. In response, Zayn laid down a challenge for The Scottish Warrior for this retro event. After an enthralling battle, it was McIntyre who emerged victorious.

Zayn didn’t waste time in starting the match, as he jumped McIntyre from the get-go. Chants of “Sami Uso” echoed throughout the arena. The former Honorary Uce then delivered a Moonsault on the outside. Zayn then attempted another high-risk maneuver on the outside, only for McIntyre to catch him. The former WWE Champion then threw his opponent over the announcer’s desk, gaining the upper hand.

Back from the commercial, McIntyre continued to lay a beatdown on Sami Zayn. The 39-year-old star delivered a belly-to-belly suplex on Zayn. Moments later, the latter responded with a double axe handle. The action went back and forth with moves like Spinebusters and Sunset-flip Powerbombs being delivered from both sides.

Drew McIntyre went for a Claymore kick, only for Zayn to counter with a Bluethunder Powerbomb. The former Bloodline member went for a Helluva kick. However, McIntyre rolled out of the ring only for him to deliver a Claymore inside for the win at the Saturday Night’s Main Event. Considering McIntyre has just begun hunting down The Bloodline, it’s safe to say this rivalry is far from over.

In his first match after two months, Drew McIntyre looked flawless against longtime rival Sami Zayn. Since returning, McIntyre has made it clear that he wants to teach the OG Bloodline members a lesson. As such, he took to his X account to send a warning to the remaining members of the group.

The Scottish Warrior said that now he was done with Zayn, he would now proceed with exacting revenge on the remaining four members. Although he didn’t mention the names, fans believe he is referring to the members of the late 2022-23 version of The Bloodline.

In addition to Zayn, this list includes The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Roman Reigns. Out of all of those names, the most intriguing one is The OTC’s. After all, a Clash at the Castle 2022 rematch between McIntyre and Reigns would be a marquee battle, worthy of a WrestleMania main event. With that said, only time will tell when WWE pulls the trigger on the bout.
