Roman Reigns has established himself as the top superstar in WWE over the past four years. He has main evented WrestleMania 9 times and achieved almost every accomplishment that the promotion has to offer. For someone like that, it may appear that he has no goals left in the company. However, the 39-year-old recently outlined his future path in WWE.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns said that he still had a lot of work to do and a lot of money to make in his career. Provided that he stayed healthy, he wanted to venture into many different things. Of course, he wanted to get his WWE Undisputed Championship back. However, his main priority at the moment was sorting things out in his family, establishing who the leader among them was, and who deserved the Ula Fala, his traditional Samoan necklace.
This was a feud that was highly personal to him, rather than for usual materialistic gains. While he wished that things with his family could be sorted over a dinner table conversation, it had to be this way. Thus, he said that Cody Rhodes was “the man” for the moment while he is involved in his current feud.
However, Reigns made it very clear that his stock in the company had not dropped at all. He had still main evented both nights of WrestleMania XL and held the record for the most number of main events at the Showcase of the Immortals. Everyone wanted to take him out because he was at the top and the one that everyone wants to dance with.
Roman Reigns talks about hitting Seth Rollins with a steel chair at WrestleMania XL
WrestleMania XL ended in highly dramatic fashion. Although Roman Reigns had a steel chair in his hand and the opportunity to take out his opponent, Cody Rhodes, he instead chose to take out Seth Rollins first. This move eventually cost him the match, leading to his monumental loss and him losing the WWE Undisputed Championship.
During the same interview, Reigns said that Seth Rollins was a huge learning chapter for him in his career. That incident taught him who to trust. If he couldn’t, he kept them in his control or kept them away at “a chair’s length.”
The events of Survivor Series: WarGames are going to be interesting, given Reigns’ trust issues. He has had to rely on four other people in his fight against his family. However, this time, unlike in 2022, he does not have direct control over them, and they are instead their own individual superstars.
